Take 1!

As you know, I issued the challenge for April's Kaya! and I had the task of randomly picking a scrapper's name, too. I decided to enlist the help of DDs Sarah and Kahlo, and much to my surprise they were quite agreeable. I usually have to bribe them with computer time if I want them to smile for my camera. Maybe it's because they were also excited over Diego's recent VTR for a Disney show.

The DDs did quite well. Thank you for those who left messages about how adorable and smart my DDs are. I let them read you comments and they were very flattered. I know, they wouldn't stop giggling for a very long time.

BTW, we only had blooper and I'd like to share it with you. They got it right in just two takes even if I just told them what to do. Of course, I had no control over what they actually did once the camera started rolling. And yes, that is so Kahlo.

RAK My Scrapbooking World

I almost went with the Eric Clapton song that goes "Before you accuse me, take a look at yourself..." Hehe. But I think the songs I finally chose are more apt and fun to boot.

Thank you, Marj for this interesting RAK. I'm glad I did it, not only for the opportunity to win a prize, but also because I got a good inventory of my scrapbooking stuff. I hope to open and use my tools more often, and to make a significant dent on my stash of papers. Here's to more scrapbooking layouts and albums.

EB Means Eyeball

When I got started on this hobby, I stumbled upon a group in the web which turned out to be an important part of my growth as a scrapbooker. The Pinoy Scrapbookers turned out to be a great resource, not only for ideas, tips and techniques but for friendships and yes, shopping buddies. The e-group has been around for a long time, since 2001, but has only recently climbed to a record number of memberships.

The group held it's first eyeball or meeting or get-together, last October 2006. You can read co-moderator Sheryl's account here. For a while, there were no general meetings but the exchange of ideas and layouts continued through e-mail. But there was a continuing clamor for another EB and we finally had one last January 7, 2007.

What, exactly happens in these EBs? Is it some secret scrapbookers' society meeting that must be kept hidden from the prying eyes of "struggles" or non-scrapping people, otherwise known as those-who-struggle-to-make-LOs? (Inspired by the word "muggles" or non-magical folk from Harry Potter).

Well, it is a day full of camaraderie, creativity, food, sharing, and fun. So what exactly do we do at these EBs? Watch the video and be inspired. Then join us at www.pinoyscrapbookers@yahoogroups.com. This Pinoy society of scrapbookers is secret no more.
